Johnthedorf – I have read about the Sorolla House and I have it on my list of attractions. I love the Frick, it is also one of my favorites so I am sure I will like the Sorolla House.
Cathy – I also considered Salamanca because it looks very inviting but given my timeframe I have put on the list of cities I want to visit on my second trip to Spain. (I already have a list for a second trip). I have revised my itinerary to include a night in Toledo. I know I will be happy with my decision.
I have heard from others that Madrid is not their favorite city in Spain but I love art museums and Madrid is heavy with art museums. I was just telling a friend today that I plan on devoting two days to the Pardo and he said he wished he had done the same.
Thanks for the tip on the on the Office of Tourism in Cordova to check on the lockers. I will send them an email. Thanks for the day trip tips from Barcelona. I will look into them. My daughter who is studying abroad in Sweden may join me in Barcelona and because she has been there before, she may be interested in something different.
Artlover – I am still considering a day trip to Segovia as day trip from Madrid. If not, it goes on my list for a second trip to Spain.
My new revised itinerary is:
6 nights in Madrid – (train to Toledo)
1 night in Toledo – (train to Sevilla – back to Madrid and then to Sevilla?)
5 nights in Sevilla – day trip to Cordova (or stop on way to Sevilla) and minivan trip to 3 white villages (I read about this trip in Rick Steves) (train to Granada)
2 nights in Granada (fly (?) to Barcelona)
6 nights in Barcelona
Thank you so much for your responses. Once I finalize my itinerary, I will solicit assistance on hotels.

Sounds great!
I agree about the Descalzas Reales I enjoyed that. Get there in plenty of time though and be aware the tour is limited to 20 people at one time and is in Spanish.
I also agree with Segovia.
In additional to the Alcazar you might also see La Granja de San Iledefonso avoid the free days & student days if possible) loved seeing it. We drive but I belive there may be buses to la Granja as well.
I enjoyed the Museo del Traje in Madrid as well (clothing museum).
For my own trip next time I have on the list the Royal Tapestry museum in Madrid, the Soralla Museum and in Seville the Museo del Flamenco.
Maribel's guide mentions several other museums.
