2 week honeymoon in Spain. Is this itinerary feasible?
We are spending 2 weeks in Spain on our honeymoon in May. We want to go to Barcelona, Seville, and the Costa del Sol (I'd love to fit a stop in Granada if that's possible). Is this a good plan? If so, what's the best way (given the time frame) to get to Seville from Barcelona (or vice versa). Is it a good drive or better to fly?
Any advice is much appreciated as I don't know Spain at all. Thanks, Kathy

Kathy,
I would think that it would not be too much of a problem to see the areas you've described. I, too, am going to Spain for my honeymoon in October, and am doing the same itinerary (plus Madrid) in a somewhat fast-paced 2 weeks. With all the help I've received from this board, it should go quite smoothly. Perhaps others that have done that route can chime in...

kathy,
To cover this ground in 2 weeks,I would also suggest that you fly directly from Barcelona to Seville, then pick up a car to tour the south upon leaving Seville, then turn in the car at the Malaga Int. airport and fly home from there (even if you need to change planes in Madrid). Here's an idea on how you might divide your time:
4 days: Barcelona & environs
3-4 days: Seville
1 day: Ronda and the white hill towns
2 days: Granada (on the Alhambra hill!)
2-3 days: Costa del Sol (fly from Mal.)
Although I must confess I'm not a fan of the congested, overbuilt, concrete jungle, fish and chips/fast food (nope, I really don't like it!)sections of the Costa del Sol around Torremolinos,I do like much more (and have stayed in) the Marbella to Sotogrande area. This section of the coast I personally find much more attractive, with fewer massive concrete high rises, more "upscale" with nicer, prettier, more atmospheric hotels and resorts built to resembe whitewashed Andalusian villages. And it shouldn't be too crowded yet in May. If you do want to experience the "best" of the Costa del Sol and (I'm assuming) have a few days at the end for relaxing on the beach, since this is your honeymoon, I'd choose Marbella, Puerto Banus or Estepona rather than the hectic, noisy non-stop party atmosphere of the Torremolinos area. (I once worked for 2 consecutive summers in Torre/Fuengirola/Benalmadena, so been there, done that...but it's a matter of personal likes/dislikes).
If 3 beach days is too much (and I suspect it probably is), then I'd certainly add a day to Seville, which I think you'll really love and you'll agree merits some time to savor.
Hope this gives you a starting point.
Congratulations and have a great honeymoon!
