2 nights in Tuscany - where can I stay?

I have only 2 nights in Tuscany in late September and would like to stay somewhere south of Siena and visit a few little villages.

We are a family of 4 and like to stay in apartments. However, most apartments are only rented by the week.

Does anyone know of somewhere that will rent by the day?

Well, I suppose you might find something, but have you ever owned a rental property? Can you imagine what a PITA it is to rent by the day? There are very good reasons why people rent only by the week. Like, unless you happen to come across another group that wants your place for the next 5 nights, you've forfeited a week's rent. It's kind of a duh! At least for me as a rental home owner it is. I never rent for anything less than a week unless it's mid-winter and they and I are desperate. Which has never happened.

And if you have only 2 nights, you're not talking about a huge expense for a hotel.

Depends what you're used to I suppose. Here in the Southern hemisphere we only rent by the night.
You don't lose 5 nights rent because not everybody wants to rent Saturday to Saturday. Shorter rentals just slot in together and fill the space up.

Try fontebertusi.it. They may have a couple of days available. It's just outside of Pienza.
