I am a madrileņo (native of Madrid). If I had to make a summary with what you are looking for and the ideas that have been provided to you in this thread, my option would be the Westin Palace hotel.

Thank you very much Revulgo. My only hesitation with the Westin is that it is so big and as Robert noted above with the ritz being closed it is even busier. Thank you for the input!

I never stayed at Westin, but if you prefer to be more “ central” ,it is probably your best option.
It is only a couple of nights !
