2 nights in Dublin - B&B ideas

Hello,
We are driving from Shannon to Dublin and will be spending our last 2 night in/near Dublin. What area would you recommend staying in? Any recommendations for accommodations are appreciate.

city center, Christchurch, St Stephen's Green, Trinity College has dorm rooms available in summer. Book soon though. Rooms go fast.

Travelodge Stephens Green is central. we use the Maldron in Smithfield on the odd occasion we have an early meet/late drop at the port.

Tony, our apartment is right by the Maldron in Smithfield. Very close to Cobblestone pub. Trying that side of the Liffey. Great transportation with the luas over there.
Jacolyn, just stay out of Temple bar central, very noisy at night and then they roll the kegs down the street in the early am.

Oh I wouldn't say avoid Temple bar area...if you want the pub singing, dancing. But much to see and do in Dublin...and I say start at photos in Post Office and Kilmainham Jail since this is the 100th anniversary of the East uprising.

We had a room at the Charles Stewart Guesthouse on Parnell Square across from Gate Theatre. I'm sure there is a listing of such guesthouses...ours served delicious breakfasts.
