2-for-1 deals?
 

Are these 2-for-1 coupons to attractions on the National Rail site valid with a 3-4 day Travelcard for bus/tube service? Or do you have to purchase a train ticket to/from another town? We will be purchasing Southern Railway tickets to get from Gatwick into the city. Would these be valid? I'm very confused regarding all the terms used. Thanks for your help.

Either your Southern Rail or a TfL ticket are accepted. What's a 3-4 day Travelcard and why do you think you want one?

Robespierre, I've been planning our trip for both London and Paris and sometimes I get things confused. I will only be in London from Saturday mid-day until Wednesday morn. Won't need bus/tube service on Saturday as we are staying close to the hotel that day. Will only need it Sun/Mon/Tue and if we can get a 4-day travelcard, we will use to get to Waterloo Station Wednesday, but we're staying in Charing Cross, so we could almost walk! There are four of us and I just want something convenient and easily available when we need it for at least 3 travel days. Are there other options? I think I can buy a book of 10 tickets, but I'm trying to keep simplicity into this so I don't have one more thing to have to think about! First trip to Europe, so I'm trying to stay on top of things so it all goes smoothly! Any suggestions are appreciated.

We had a 7-day Travelcard for the bus/tube and didn't have any problems using our 2for1 coupons. I think only one of the places even asked to look at them. I think as long as the date you are visiting the site is covered under the travelcard then it is valid.

missatlanta: You <u>are</u> confusing London and Paris. Paris is the one that has carnets of 10 tickets and travel passes that run from monday to sunday.

London doesn't sell books of tickets, travel cards/pass can start any day of the week - and there are no 4-day travel cards.

just to clarify in case you have an old guidebook - there used to be sets of 10 tix - but they were eliminated some time ago. . . . .

Get an Oyster card.
Load &pound;12 on it.
Use it starting whatever day you wish.
If you run out of credit, top it up.

Three-day Travelcards are only offered in the &quot;Peak period&quot; version. They cost &pound;15.40, compared to &pound;13.20 for three days of Oyster (which you might not even use all of), and you can't take advantage of Oyster fares for extensions.

Robispierre - Is that unlimited travel w/the 3-day on Oyster? And, what do you mean for &quot;extensions&quot;? Outside zones 1 &amp; 2? Don't I have to purchase the card also? Which means I must bring 1x1 pics of each of us? Thanks for your help.

Yes, unlimited travel during off-peak periods for a maximum or &pound;4.40 per day (&pound;3 if you only ride buses).

Yes, extensions are for outside Zones 1-2.

Yes, you pay a deposit on the card.

No, you do not need an ID photo.
