Quite good ?? Brussels has the best dining anywhere in the world !! Also great bars, museums, you name it. (And I'm not even into shopping :-) )

Since you say you are fast-paced and adventurous, I'm not sure you would like Bruges all that much. It's a charming historic city, but I'm not sure that's what you are looking for. I preferred it to Brussels, but I'm a middle-aged lady! I have young friends who like Brussels a lot. There might be more for you to do and see there. Just a thought.
