2 Days to go, Italy, here I come!

I've been planning and researching this trip for so long, it seems totally unreal that it's only two days away! Thanks to all who have given information in the one million threads I've read here on Fodors! :-d

All the reservatons are made where needed. I look forward to meeting JenV in Florence, Barb in Rome and Mike in Rome for Fodorite dinners. I know it's going to be great!

Bon Voyage SusanP,

Didn't see your thread the first time around. What a lovely time of year to be in Italy.

Safe journey, post upon returning, ok?

:) Tiff

Susan,

Have a great trip!!! With all the Fodorites going over right now, I sure hope there will be some vino and gelato left when I get there in 4 weeks.

Can't wait to hear about your trip Susan - enjoy!

I leave in 31 days! I'm noting that a few people seem to be there the last two weeks of Oct - perhaps we need a GTG like Susan et al??

SusanP Sep 13th, 2005 08:29 PM

travelphile, I will definitely report back. I like reports that give a lot of information to help others and will surely do the same. Hope you also have a great trip.

I hope you enjoy your trip. As a soon-to-be solo traveler, I am anxiously awaiting to read your trip report.

I remember you were planning to go to L’Orso 80 with other Fodorites. I hope you enjoy your GTG.

Buon Viaggio!

Have a great trip Susan -
We leave on the 29th for two weeks....we're counting down the days!

SusanP Sep 14th, 2005 08:01 PM

Simone, This is my first solo trip (just couldn't convince my husband that he wanted to go to Italy!). I'm actually having dinner with other Fodorites three times, so that should be lots of fun. I'll report back on everything, including travelling solo. Most of the people I know can't believe I'm going by myself, but I have done so much research that I'm not worried at all! With all the great info from Fodorites, how can you go wrong?

Hana, have a great trip.

Bokhara Sep 14th, 2005 08:23 PM

Susan, have a wonderful trip (oooohhhh I'm sooooooo envious - I LOVE Italy!)
Don't worry about travelling solo - it's my preferred mode. I travel a lot and mostly solo. You have the flexibility to do & see exactly what & when you want, have the best time and meet lots more people than you do when travelling with someone. You just need to keep your wits about you (lol) and enjoy the journey :)
The Italians are used to solo women travellers - and there are lots of great wines by the 1/2 bottle ;)

SusanP Sep 14th, 2005 08:52 PM

Bokhara, Yes, I plan to enjoy doing just exactly as I please...and I have in my notes exactly what to say if I want a half-bottle of wine!
