2 days in galway or doolin?

help please-
I just about have my itinerary ironed out with the exception of galway we are arriving in shannon early am and I was thinking about driving to the cliffs of mohr, through the burrens and then on to galway I now am thinking that maybe it might be better to stay 2 nights in doolin (and visit galway) or one night in galway then one night in doolin before the heading t:
killarney 2 nites
kinsale 1 nite
kilkenny 1 nite
dublin 1 nite (flying out of dublin)
any suggestions would be appreciated thanks frank

I was not especially thrilled with Galway last year. I don't have a specific complaint about it, only that you can get the same characteristic Irish charm from Doolin or any number of small towns rather than dealing with the traffic and hassle of a large town like Galway. There are no real historical sights to see. It has fun nightlife, but you can get that most anywhere in Ireland. Stay in Doolin.

thanks edward for your reply. are you familiar with the seaview house B&B in doolin? also do you think two nites in doolin would be ok or maybe one nite in cregg castle, north of galway (or even connemera) and one nite in doolin? frank

Doolin is really small. Seaview House is right across the street from a couple of pubs & shops. More than one night in Doolin would be sufficient, I would think.

For the bang for the buck, visit the area around Doolin, spend the night, skip Galway, and head for Dingle. Spend the day/night/and the following day in Dingle, then head for Killarney for 2 nights. Plenty to do/see in and around Killarney for 2 days.

More than one night in Doolin, IMO, would be a waste of valuable touring time.

Save Galway and North for another trip. ((b))

Doolin is very very small village with nothing there to do but the 3 pubs. One night is plenty there. If you stay two nights a nice side trip is about a 15 minute drive south of the cliffs to the seaside resort town of Lahinch. Very nice little town with excellent very big sandy beach, nice shops, restaurants on or near the promenade at the beach and the only ATM for miles and miles. No ATM at Doolin. Dingle and Dingle peninsula is the place to be. If you stay on the Ring of Kerry route I would make it Kenmare not Killarney. Kilarney is a mass of tour buses and not that interesting. Just my opinion; no doubt others will disagree.
