Riding the bus from Trastevere to EUR

We'll be in Rome in March and have decided to run in the Fun Run that follows the Rome Marathon. We arrive on saturday, March 15th in the afternoon and have to pretty much drop our things off at our apartment and find our way to EUR to register. This is the last day to register as the run is on march 16. We will be staying at via della lungara near the Porta Settimiana. What is the best way to get there by public transportation? I have looked at the maps for the bus and the metro. Any suggestions?

You probably don't want to go from Trastevere to Termini to take the bus/metro from there as it is a waste of time. Walk over to the corner of Viale Trastevere and Via Induno and get on a bus that crosses the Tiber and goes on the Via Marmorata to the Pirimade/Ostiense station. There you can board the B line Metro and take it to the EUR Fermi stop.

I will try the route you suggest grinisa. Does that take approximately 45 minutes?

45 minutes seems to be about right, depending on how long you have to wait for a bus and the metro, but it shouldn't take longer than an hour. If time is an issue, you can usually find a taxi near San Crisogno church on Viale Trastevere.
