2 college girls need cheap, safe accomodation

2 college girls need cheap (inexpensive) safe, centrally located lodging for both Amsterdam and either Brussesl or Bruges next week. Any suggestions? Thank you

How many nights in Bruges and what's your ideal budget?

I think the best located hostel is Charlie Rockets...excellent location and fairly new facility.

Doubles for 45 Euro.

For 60 Euros, you could stay at a bed and breakfast right around the corner from Charlie Rockets....but that requires a 2 night minimum. We've rented a flat from the people who operate the B&B and were very pleased both times. http://users.skynet.be/sky82493/index.htm

Again -- location for both is prime. Just under 5 minute walk to Markt. Great (and cheap) options for food nearby.

Hotel Kap is a 3-star in Amsterdam, you can check their website and see if this is what you have in mind. I thought it was nice for the price. Good breakfast included.

Thanks everyone for responses so far....we are checking things out and will get back to you. Any other suggestions?

Do you have any idea what neighborhood you want to stay in? And your hotel price range? I used Let's Go Amsterdam guidebook with great success.

I suggest staying in Leidseplein, the Jordaan, around Vondelpark... not near central, the train station, the Dam, or red light district (for safe accomodation).

I think Brugge's hotels tend to book early. So I'm not sure how easy it will be to get a reservation at this time for next week.

Thanks for your help. They decided to stay in Amsterdam instead of Bruges. Rooms were tough to come by at a decent price. They spent their first night at the Hotel Acro for 49 euros for 2, with breakfast. Their next night is booked at the San Luchesio Hotel, @65 euros for 2 incl breakfast. The Acro zoomed up to 107 euros for the same room since it was a weekend! I will report back later as to their opinions of each place.
