1st trip to Spain in August: Itinerary help
We are considering a trip to Spain this August. I know, hot hot hot! And I don't like hot weather... but it is the only time we (me, husband and 16 yr old son) can squeeze in a vacation.
However, this year we may have only 11 days including travel from Calif to Spain. Effectively, that is just 9 touring days. We usually spend more time for such a long trip. We are thinking of visiting: Barcelona Madrid Toledo (maybe day trip, maybe 1 night) Country/village spot maybe Basque or Rioja region Is this a good plan? What country type region would you suggest? We would rather see fewer spots, than just a night or two in each spot ( exception is expanding Toledo from a day trip to a 1 night stay.) Is this too much for such a long flight? We could just do something closer to home and save Spain for next year when we might have more time. Any thoughts? |
To be candid, I would not do it for such a short stay and in August. Consider the Alps perhaps or Canadian rockies.
