1st trip to Italy
I am planning a 2 week trip to Italy in early June with my husband and 2 girls ages 12 and 16, this will be our 1st time to Italy. I want to visit Rome, Venice and the Amalfi coast. Will it be very hot and crowded there at that time? I've been reading some other posts that say it will be. We don't do very well with the heat especially if we have to walk around a lot in it but if we go, it will have to be when the girls are out of school. I was hoping that if we go right when they get out of school in early June it won't be that hot yet. Has anyone gone at that time and what was the weather like?

Yes earlier the better for weather and crowds - start in Venice and Florence - brief stop maybe for few hours just to see Duomo area? - Rome and end in Amalfi. Trains ar best for cities and to get to Amalfi where ferries and buses take you around. Great train info - www.ricksteves.com; BETS-European Rail Experts and www.seat61.com - latter clues you in on how to book your own discounted tickets online at Acquista il biglietto con le nostre offerte - Trenitalia or www.italotreno.com - competing rail companies running similar trains over same tracks and into same stations. Book really early for best deals.
