1st Time Flying Abroad

My sister and I are flying from Indianapolis to Canada then from Canada to the UK. Will we have to get our checked luggage in Canada so it will get on the right plane for our flight to the UK? On our way home we do the same in reverse.

No. Check your luggage through to your final destination in the UK, and you won't see it again until you get there. Same thing coming home.

As I told you in one of your other threads, you should check with your airline to find out if your US port of entry is your final destination in the US or if it's in Canada.

Outbound you check your luggage through to the UK.

Your trip home to the United States is more complicated than the departure journey. You quite possibly will see your luggage in Canada on the way home, because many of Canada's international airports have U.S. customs and immigration preclearance services. That means you are checked by your government's representatives before you enter the United States and they may want to inspect your luggage. For a list of airports with preclearance, look here http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/toolbox/c..._locations.xml
