Just take it slowly and if someone wwants to pass do as Padraig said and let them. Do not get all formula one and start overtaking people. SOmeone always does this and there are a few accidents from it each summer from that and forgetting the proper side to drive on. Many a trip as a child my dad nearly gave us a heart attack by forgetting and us kids roaring in the bacjk to get on the left Better safe than sorry and just watch both ways to be sure you don't forget which way to go, turn etc. ...Just remember Risht is WRONG here. Make it the mantra.

Driving on the highway near Ennis some years ago, I came across a sign saying "Pelican Crossing". Had no idea what it meant, and my Irish hosts didn't know either. Anyone know what this means. I'm going back this year.

This is a traffic light controlled pedestrian crossing, one a several different kinds in the UK/Ireland.
