16th Arr Paris is ????

My husband has a meeting in the 16th and we are being encouraged to stay in that area. So as not to offend , we will do that but I have only been to Paris once for 3 days many years ago with 2 middle school girls and another cranky menopausal mother. So I am actually going for the 1st time;-0!
What can I expect. I researched geography but I really want feel, smells, age , quirky etc
thanks

I'm not sure what your questions is, but I think you're trying to find out if the 16th is a good place to stay in Paris. The 16th is a bit farther from the main tourist sites than the lower numbered arrondissements, but if you're next to a metro station in the 16th, you should be fine. Here's a link to info on the 16th:

The 16th is a very big arrondissement, so you should make sure you don't stay at the wrong end of it -- anyway, "staying in the area" does not necessarily mean staying in the same arrondissement.

Yes, which neighborhood? The Auteuil neighborhood is an attractive residential area with many good restaurants, cafes, shops, but it's in the southern end of the 16th. The Passy/Victor Hugo neighborhoods (my favorite neighborhood in Paris) is farther north--again, an excellent neighborhood for strolling around.

Hi

I haven't stayed in the 16th but maybe you can find some useful information in my trip report with pictures and links: http://gardkarlsen.com/Paris_France.htm :d
