16 days in Paris, not sure London or Italy? ?

Hi there,

Me n the 2 friends from Asia is gg to visit Paris(1 week) in Sep. Not sure to choose London or Italy for a week...
Can we have some suggestions???

Thanks in advance:D

You give too little information to make suggestions. Knowing your ages, interests, style of travel (budget or not, sharing a room?) would be helpful. Cities, countryside, car or not? The more we know, the better we can recommend.

I would see London during the second week since it's close and easy to get to via Eurostar train.

Hi, we are in the thirties. We would like to visit the beautiful places of Paris and London or Italy? Plus shopping. Btw any shopping outlets to recommend?
3 of us are sharing a room. Haven't decide on hotel or apartment...Really need help in making our 16 days a pleasant one...

Thank a million

Oh we r travelling in budget and not driving around Largely depends on public transport.

Your options are quite different from each other.

London:
English history, beautiful churches and cathedrals, great museums, fun shopping, gardens, theater. Good day trips.

Italy:
Many different cities and places - depends on your personal interests
Rome: Ancient history, fabulous art museums, amazing Architecture, cafes and food
Florence: Art and architecture
Venice: everything
Hill towns with churches and beautiful landscapes
Countryside
Wine
Lakes

Five days would be good for London for me, but I would want at least 10-12 for seeing much of Italy, unless I concentrated on only one area or city.

Consider instead four days London, five days Paris and four or five in Amsterdam and the Netherlands or another area of France that you can reach easily by train.

Thanks for your suggestions. We have decided on ltaly n Paris. We will touch down Paris then to Italy.
What transportation would you suggest for us to take?

I would check into flights between Paris and Rome or Venice. Maybe EasyJet or Ryan Air--it will be faster and fly home from Italy to make the most of your vacation time.

I'd also fly, takes too long to take the train and probably will be cheaper. You only have one week, anyway, you don't want to spend a day on the train. People traveling on budgets usually don't specify the main goal of the trip is to go shopping, though, things are not cheap in Europe, you know.

I would bag the shopping. Prices for most everything in europe are very high - definitely much higher than in the US for exactly the same thing - not sure about compared to where you are from. But I wouldn't expect any bargains.

MmePerdu May 18th, 2014 10:24 AM

It depends entirely what you shop for and where. Sometimes a bargain is not the point. I love to shop for housewares, for instance, wherever I go - kitchen gadgets are different in every part of the world and some unlike anything we might have where we live. Also pillow covers, small rugs, small dishes and cups that tuck among the clothes in my suitcase. Any number of things that may not be available at any price at home. Shopping means more than clothes. Accessories like scarves from markets or bags from Monoprix. Things that remind me forever of where I've been.

How about we will get to Italy? For instance to milan, florence, pisa, vanice and Rome . What is the convenient transportation? Is it eurail or any other suggestions?
We plan to stay at Florence only then from florence, we will travel daily to the other states..We do understand the travel time to n fro is ab 4 hrs.Thinking that the places closed ab 10th then after 10pm ,we will travel back. As we think is cheaper to stay at 1 area....
Please give us some ideas. ...
Thanks in advance
