kkygirl, I agree that Le Train Bleu is a very worthwhile dining experience in a beautiful setting. The food is not innovative but it's good, and the place is impressive.

I agree, ky.-Le Train Blu is one of the most wonderful dining venues in Paris for its really astounding Belle Epoque decor, (there's almost too much to look at, AND eat!) But the food there is quite good-I have Belgian friends who dine there every time they come to Paris.

Here's their website, in case you want to view their ornate decor:

SuzieCII, Glad you like my web site! I still want to add more recipes.

sarge56, please email me (and of course post on Fodors) your trip report and where you dined. Would like to hear if Cane e Gatto is still as good as when I was there.

One point about Le Train Bleu, not a good choice in hot weather. My birthday dinner there last year mid July was wonderful, but we were dripping wet by the time we left. No air, and the windows open didn't help at all. It was one of the most uncomfortable meals I've ever endured -- too bad, because otherwise it would have been perfect.

Patrick - thanks for the heads up on air and Le Train Bleu. I never dreamed that it wouldn't be but I guess with the high ceilings.... Anyway, a good piece of info to remember.

It was a surprise to us too, as I hadn't thought about that possibility. Fortunately we could take off our jackets and our ties (which everyone else did too) except for the poor waiters in their heavy tuxes -- getting wetter and wetter as the evening went on.
