15 days in Europe

I am a solo traveler who’s planning to travel to Europe for 15 days.

My initial plan actually is this: Paris, and then travel by train to Switzerland, then Rome, then Austria, then back to Paris to catch my flight going back home. But due to limited time, I’ve also been contemplating about starting off from Rome, then Austria, and then Switzerland. My last stop would be Paris. I still have ample time to plan everything for that trip because my preferred travel month is on September – which is apparently 8 months from now, but, I need to prepare necessary documents ahead of time (air ticket/s, accommodation, and all those stuffs) as requirement for the visa application. I also want to visit Prague but not sure if that’s gonna be possible. Please help!

Looking forward to hearing from you guys. Any other itinerary for a 15-day Europe trip will be appreciated too.

Do consider flying into one city and out of another. Open-jaws tickets, as many on this board will tell you, save a lot of time and possibly money. They're listed as multi-destination or multi-city on many airline and agency search pages.
Some might agree, too, that rushing from place to place on a jammed schedule can keep you from understanding and enjoying the places where you have paused to catch your breath.

Too much in too short of time. I suggest you narrow it down as you waste a lot of your 15 days on travel instead of at your destinations. If you haven't booked flights yet, fly into your furthest city and home from Paris. I would drop Austria entirely. Fly into Rome, train to Switzerland (where?), train to Paris.

Agree you are trying to do way too much in too little time, Ifyou want to see more than a lot of train stations cut back to 3 cities in 15 days - soe you can see more than the top 2o r 3 sights.

Also agree to get an open-jaw (multi-destination) flight to avoid wasting time back tracking.

You don;t give your nationality - so have no clue about what sort of visas you need, the requirements for getting one - or if it will allow you to move at random around Schengen.

Southam - thanks, I will get an open-jaw ticket then =) great help!

Kybourbon - Yeah, 15-days is too short. I haven't booked anything yet though. =) but my heart broke when I've read "drop Austria" on the list :( thanks anyways!

nytraveler - I've made a research about what I need when I travel to Europe =) Documents required for Schengen Visa application like air ticket, accommodation, etc are my main concern now. thanks!
