15 days in Denmark / Sweden in May 17

We are a family of 4 ( couple in early forties and 2 teenage boys) planning for a 15 day trip to Denmark / Sweden. We had drafted the following itinerary. We would be using only public transport. No car/bike.
16th May - Arrival at Noon at CPH (long flight)
17th May - Roskilde and back
18th May - Frederiksborg + Kronborg Castle (early morning start and return back)
19th May - CPH
20th May - CPH
21st May - CPH to Aarhus by train
22nd May - Aarhus (Aalborg)
23rd May - Aarhus (Ribe)
24th May - Legoland and night at CPH
25th May - CPH - STK by train
26th May - STK
27th May - STK
28th May - STK - Uppsala - STK
29th May - Archipelago Tour (Vaxholm - Sandhamn)
30th May -Sigtuna
31st May - STK
01st June - Morning flight from STK

Advice sought on the above itinerary. We are planning to buy 5-day CPH Card and 2-Day train pass
for Denmark. Anything we are missing. Any new attractions. Till date, we have only booked our to and fro air tickets.
Thanks

Have you looked at a Scan Railpass (which also covers some boats) for the whole trip? Anyway for lots on train info check www.seat61.com; www.budgeteuropetravel.com and www.ricksteves.com.

Looks good to me! :-)

I assume you ruled out going straight from Copenhagen to Aarhus? If you could push on through, it would let you eliminate one change of hotels, but it would certainly be understandable if you think you'll be too tired.

PalenQ. Thanks. Have referred them earlier but will again update myself.
kja. We are considering your advice. We would like to refresh ourselves after a long overseas flight before undertaking a train journey. Can you suggest where can we take shower ( at airport or central railway station).

I think your itinerary is mostly fine, few days in CPH before going to Jutland is a good idea. Have you thought of another way to get to Stockholm after Legoland which doesn't involve going back to CPH? Maybe fly from Billund to Stockholm on SAS, you'll save a whole load of time and possibly money.

With the train from CPH-STO, are you aware of the border checks in operation between Denmark and Sweden? Apparently you no longer have to change platforms at Kastrup station for the ID check, the border checks were only meant to be until spring 2017, who knows if that will be extended.

Odin. Thanks.
If we fly from Billund to Stockholm then we would be missing the Oresund Bridge. We do not want to miss it.

The main Copenhagen train station used to have shower facilities. I can't speak with certainty, but this web site seems to be official and suggests that it still does:

Hope that helps!

You must really want to see the bridge then, as it's about a 6 hour train journey from Copenhagen to Stockholm, not including delay for border checks, not including previous night in Copenhagen and not including the journey from BLL to CPH which is another 3 hours, yet the flight from BLL to ARN is 1 hour.

Why not rent a car and go to Kronborg Castle + Øresund Bridge for the day. Then you can stop and take a good look at the bridge (bridge toll is expensive). The view is better from Malmö. Take the ferry from Helsingør to Helsingborg and go to Malmö and come back that way.

Or buy the Around Sound ticket.

Great tip but instead of renting a car - I did it all by public transporation and got to go over the bridge and under the tunnel on a train to Malmo - change there to a train to Lund -classic university town with a campus-like setting - then train to Helsingborg and ferry to Helsingor - Hamlet's Castle and train back to Copenhagen - Yes Around the Sound trek they called it. And easily done!
