14 days in Portugal
Hi All,
We are planning a trip to Portugal in mid-September for 14 days. We are traveling with our friends and will be renting a car. We like to see historic places and beautiful views. But we are not hicking. We are flying to Lisbon. We thought about going to Sintra. I am not sure if we need to stay overnight there or not. Does it make sense to go straight to Sintra and explore Lisbon on our way back home? At this point we are flexible. What would you recommend?
Will we have a time to go to Madeira as well? Or rather stay inland and explore? Can you recommend places to stay?
Any ideas and suggestions are highly appreciated.
Thank you!!

explore Lisbon for about 4 nights, then pick up a car and go driving. You really do not need a car in Lisbon. Sintra is lovely, and you could stay there a night.
We found driving in Portugal easy, but there are lots of Toll roads, especially down south in the Algarve.
