14 Day Honeymoon in Italy
Hey guys,
I'm planning my honeymoon in in March end (2018) to mid- April (2018) for a period of roughly 14 days.
We'd want to do a mix of culture, countryside and the coast.
I've roughly come up with a plan and would love your suggestions on it.
Rome (3N)
Tuscany (Montalcino / Val D'orcia) (3N)
Florence (3N)
Cinque Terre (3N)
Venice (2N)
More details: I would be flying out from Mumbai, India.
Wouldn't mind adding 1 more location with 2-3 days additionally if you guys think there is a place that's a must visit.
We're planning to drive down along the way as most of the places are a 3 hour distance away.
I'm open to your suggestions and feedback on this plan.

You may want to reconsider CT if it's March or early April. The weather there can be chilly/rainy that time of year.
Your plan to drive is a bit confusing, as you will not want a car in Rome, Venice or Florence.

@Vincenzo, Thanks for the advice. Could you recommend any alternate locations?
Wanted to drive throughout as it would just be a little comfortable to roam around other places. ie. Braies from Venice, Pisa etc. from Florence, Vatican from Rome. Do you suggest I shouldn't hire a car?

Pisa is easiest by train from Florence.
The Vatican is actually within Rome, so you do not need or want a car there.
Best to take train from Florence to Venice, city center to city center, no parking.
You have only 2 nights (1 full day) in Venice, so no time for a day trip anywhere.
The only place you would want a car is in Tuscany.
It may be and is likely to be cool and rainy in other places, but in cities like Rome and Florence, you will spend more time in museums, cafes, etc. You won't be hiking along narrow trails or slippery steps as you would in the CT.

The Amalfi Coast is a great Summer resort area, a place for sitting outside on a terrace, swimming, sailing, etc. It is too cool and rainy for that in early Spring, but you could get some sunny days to see Capri or Positano and Amalfi. You would have to kind of play it by ear, see if ferries are running or you would have to use the Sita bus.
There are world class archeological sites in the Naples area though - Pompeii and Herculaneum - if those interest you. You might have to bundle up a bit, usually just a jacket.
Do you have some good guide books?
