13 hour layover in Paris Daytime

We are flying through Paris on our way to Morocco in late September. We have a 13 hour layover from 8am until 9pm and I am not going to spend it in the airport! Neither my husband nor I have been to Paris and have always wanted to go. I want to see the sites but I also want to have a great meal, and pick up some macarons. Any advice on perhaps a hop-on hop-off tour? What's worth seeing what isn't? Great restaurants? It seems that there is a train from CDG into the city that is easy enough to handle. I should add my husband also speaks French so that might help us out!

Pierre Herme or Laduree for macarons; there is an old thread on favorite macarons so you could search for that

You might check Rick Steves for one of the bus routes in Paris that is a great way to see sites (don't remember what number it is) or consider the boats on the Seine as a way to see the major sites (without any traffic).

Don't know enough about what you want for a great meal...lots of charming places on Ile St Louis or Cafe Marly at the Louvre. Chez Francis has a great Eiffel Tower view or Ciel de Paris for lunch with a view of the city (can make a reservation). Or Jules Verne at the Eiffel Tower (need a reservation. We enjoyed Le Souffle for lunch last year (can reserve here) and Aux Lyonnais (can reserve), as well.

I haven't been here, but these come highly recommended by a friend who visits Paris twice a year: Le Florimond, L'Obe (at Hotel Crillon) and Bar Vendome at the Ritz.

I could go but not sure what you are looking for, price range, etc...honestly a crepe on the street is special in Paris.
