13-day Itinerary, Hotel + Motorhome, Reykjavik, South and Snæfellsnes
 

Hello!

Could you check our end of July itinerary? In a nutshell, we will spend two nights in Reykjavik, five nights exploring the south coast in a Motorhome, two nights at Blue Lagoon, two nights in Snæfellsnes, and one last night in Keflavik.



We have a detailed schedule for every day and have timed each step.



We will not necessarily follow everything and watch our clock all the time, but it should allow us to enjoy each stop while still being able to complete the day as planned. And get a better grasp of the driving times.



Are we missing any must-see or must-do along our itinerary? What do you think of the schedule? Anything we should remove?



Please let me know your thoughts about the activities, restaurants, etc... if you would have done things differently.



Everything is already booked, but we should be allowed to cancel or amend things in most cases.





Day 1

1600 landing in Kev

1700 - 1800 drive Keflavik - Reykjavik. Booked a private driver

1800 Checkin at Borg Hotel

1900-2000 How to Become Icelandic in 60 minutes show at Harpa

2045 Dinner at Dill restaurant

Walk and drinks around Laugavegur



Day 2

0900 Breakfast at Borg hotel

1000-1130 Walk Harpa, Waterfront, Sun Voyager, Hallgrimskirkja, Perlan museum

1130-1500 Visit Perlan and have lunch at Perlan

1500-1700 shopping groceries and last minute items at Kringlan mall

1900 Dinner at OX



Day 3

0800 - 0900 drive Reykjavik - Keflavik transit private driver

0900-1000 Pick up the motorhome with Geysir

1000 - 1045 drive Keflavik - Seltun

1045 - 1200 explore Seltun

1200 - 1300 Drive Seltun - Thingvellir

1300 - 1400 lunch at Thingvellir tourist information cafe

1400 - 1700 Silfra dive booked with Troll

1700- 1800 drive Thingvellir - Geysir

Sleep at Geysir campsite





Day 4

0800-0900 Explore Geysir

0900-0915 drive Geysir-Gullfoss

0915-1030 Explore Gullfoss

1030-1100 drive Gulfoss-Secret lagoon

1100- 1500 Explore the secret lagoon and lunch at Minilik Ethiopian restaurant

1500-1600 drive Secret lagoon-Seljalandsfoss

1600-1700 explore Seljalandsfoss

1630-1700 drive Seljalandsfoss-Skogar campsite

Sleep at Skogar campsite



Day 5

0900 Breakfast Freya cafe

0930-1000 drive Freya- Reynisfajara

1000-1030 explore Reynisfajara

1030-1330 drive Reynisfajara - Skaftafell

1330 explore Skaftafell,

Sleep at Skaftafell campsite



Day 6

0700-0800 drive Skaftafell - Jokulsarlon

0800 - 1300 Explore Jokulsarlon and Diamond Beach

1300 - 1400 drive diamond beach - Hofn

1400 check-in Hotel Hofn, rest, and explore the town

1800 early dinner at Otto or Pakkhus; none take reservations.

Sleep at Hofn hotel



Day 7

0800-0830 drive Hofn - Vestrahorn

0830- 1030 explore Vestrahorn

1030-1330 drive Vestrahorn -Fjaðrárgljúfur

1330 - 1500 explore Fjaðrárgljúfur

1500 - 1630 drive Fjaðrárgljúfur - Pagkil

Sleep at Pagkil campsite



Day 8

0800 - 1300 drive Pagkil - Inside the volcano meeting point, lunch on the way

1300 - 1700 Inside the volcano tour

1700 - 1800 drive Volcano - Keflavik

1800-1900 return the motorhome and pick up the car with Geysir

1900-1930 Drive Keflavik - Northern Light Inn

Dine and sleep at Northern Light



Day 9

1130 - 1700 Blue Lagoon Retreat Spa and floating massage

1800 Dinner at Moss restaurant



Day 10

0900-1200 drive Blue Lagoon - Fjoruhusid

1200 Lunch at Fjoruhusid restaurant

Afternoon:

Check-in hotel Flosshotel Hellnar

Explore Arnarstapi

Dinner at Vidvik restaurant



Day 11

Morning explore Londrangar, Djupalonssandur/Dritvik

1200 Horse riding Stori Kambur Löngufjörur Beach ride 4-5 hours

1700 back to hotel and dinner at Flosshotel



Day 12

Morning explore Kirkjufell - Berserkjahraun

1200 - 1430 drive to Reykjavik

1500-1700 Whale watching Elding Premium tour

1700-1800 Reykjavik-Keflavik

1800 Check in at Courtyard airport hotel and return the car. Any worthwhile restaurant in Keflavik?



Day 13

0730 Takeoff
