Okay, we sat down and looked over your recommendations, other friend's advice and reconsidered our priorities/budget. We added a night in Edinburgh and we're going to base near Loch Ness for 4 nights to drive less and relax/see more.

Day 1: Arrive in Edinburgh
Day 2 & 3: Edinburgh - Royal Mile, National Museum, Castle, Arthur's Seat (not expecting to do it all, just ideas)
Day 4: Drive to Stirling, have lunch, continue on to Oban.
Day 5: Oban - possible boat tour/Isle of Mull
Day 6-9- Loch Ness Rental. Possible day trips to Fairy Pools, Eilean Donan Castle, Culloden, and such.
Day 10: Return to Edinburgh
Day 11: Depart Scotland.

I appreciate all the input and advice. We were initially trying to see too much and would have spent a lot of time in our car, and this will allow us to hopefully enjoy more of the trip.
