11 - 15 DAYS IN Italy & SWITZERLAND
 

Me and My cousin are planning a trip to italy & switzerland ,
we are thinking of going to rome , milano , florence & venice , then visit switzerland.
In switzerland i was advised to go to interlaken , lucerne & lausanne.

Can anyone recommend a route knowing that i have to end in gevena or zurich to be able to catch a plane back to Egypt ?

Seven places in 11 days - or even 15 days - will mean that you spend at least half of your time just moving from one place to another.

If you don;t mind that - mostly sitting on trains versus actual sightseeing - that itinerary will work.

But if yuo want to see more than a couple of sights in each place - or spend any time at all just relaxingm sitting in a cafe and soaking up the atmosphere of each place - then you really need to reduce the number of stops - to 3 fro 11 days or perahps 4 for 15 days.

I would ask you to list what you want to see in each place and why it's important to go there - then you can decided what places are musts and what are optional.

Also - what time of year are you going - weather can make a significatn difference in what you decide to do.

I'm going in June
I want 1 night Venice , 2 nights Florence 3 nights Rome and the rest will b subject to nearest locations
I never went to Switzerland so I need nearest Italian locations to reduce trains or flights duration

The above are must but the rest , I'm open for suggestions

Oh dear... 1 night in Venice in June? My opinion of that plan is that you might as well skip Venice if you are locked into that plan as June might be quite warm as well as touristy/crowded. The places you would go with only one night WILL be crowded and not much fun. Venice is a wonderful city for wondering slowly in neighborhoods where the cruise ship passengers do not get to in THEIR one day off the ship.
It is beautiful and quiet at night, delightful to walk the tiny calle (streets) during the day looking in shop windows at lovely hand made goods.....- be aware of glass made in Chine, not Venice ... There are fascinating museums and excellent places to eat. 1 night in Venice is not a good idea if you want to appreciate Venice. Your might switch your Rome to 2 or even 1 night as unlike Venice, you CAN get to the main sights in Rome in a day..or 2 and the ambience of Rome is obvious; a bustling historic city with most of its history buried under your feet wherever you might tred! I do speak from experience having rented apartments for a month + in both Rome and Venice as well as visiting both many times staying in hotels. Venice is magical and it would be sad not to experience that by rushing. Rome is fantastic but a completely different experience. Florence, as far as I'm concerned can be done in a day!
I took a train from Venice into Switzerland and then on the Bernina Express into Zurich and flew back to USA from Zurich. Loved Zurich.
