Because it would lead to hordes of tourists standing outside the stations with their touristy maps & getting in everybody's way.


Ah, the present system is so much better - having the tourists clog the ticket windows, barriers, platforms, and cars.

I see the logic there.

I saw the photos of the Bond Street signs, but I'm not quite clear where they are.

(By the way, I think depicting the area around the station with north at the right of the map is a very bad idea - it makes the North indicator on the base cynical.)
