Totally agree about this couple being boring! I started watching it, extremely excited about the idea of it, I couldn't even finish the first show, they bored me!
On the other Samantha Brown makes placed that I never thought I'd wanted to visit seem exciting to visit.

I tried watching that show when it first came out (1000 places) and agreed with folks here that the couple is BORING. They are so lame. And they don't seem to have done any reading-up on where they're going, either. Sample line: "It's so cool that you can just walk down the street and there's no cars." Real insight, there.

Couldn't agree more about the couple on the 1000 Places...show. Samantha Brown, on the other hand, is so much fun! Have you seen her new series on Latin America? I've recorded all the shows. They're just as fun as her other series.

re: Samantha Brown -- I wish all of her shows would be available on DVD. I've gotten some from ITune, but I really would like to be able to have the whole Passport Series, including her new South America, her "Green" show, have you seen that one? It was great!
Her cruise series was also fun...okay, I'm a full board Samantha Brown Fan!!!
I want to volunteer to be on her crew!

Love Samantha Brown. Her last 2 on Venice really prepared me for Venice when I went in May. I taped many of her European ones and have watched them quite a few times. Can't stay in the hotels she suggest-too expensive, but she is fun. I think she got married this past fall. I wonder where she would pick for a honeymoon after visiting so much places.

Also watching 1000 places to see before you die. I did like the one on India, although India would be hard for me to visit. I have friends who just returned from a month in India who said travel was difficult, but they stayed with an Indian family on the border of India and Nepal 2 weeks that was a very enlighting experience. No indoor bathroom, no hot water except what you heat. Temps like 110-not much airconditioning. The heat and crowds of people plus the poverty was overwhelming at times. They would love to go back as India is such a large, varied country you just cannot do it on one trip.
