Check out the subway station under syntagma square. it has amazing excavation displays of what they found when they were digging out / building the subway system.

Don't miss: the Archaeologic Museum, the Plaka area, the Acropolis

Evening at the Acropolis is less crowded and has a wonderful glow. (check closing times)

Kolonaki is my favorite part of the city. People watching on the square, amazing shopping or window shopping depending on how deep your pockets are. It is relaxing and civilized and a break from the throngs of tourists near the big attractions.

Lykavittos Hill has an amazing view looking at the entire city and Acropolis. Bring water and enjoy! Tip: Funicular goes up and down every half hour. It can be a little tough to find but a fun 5 minute adventure!

The pedestrian walk around the Acropolis. Bring your map and tick off lots of important sites!

Nice clean subway for easy transport!

Great stuff! Thanks for sharing. It looks like our next big family trip will be Greece in June 2008 so I'm just starting to research.
