$100-$135 Paris hotel?
 

Planning trip to Paris in June, 2006 and looking for a hotel in $100-$135 per night range. Prefer A/C. Am considering Hotel Bonaparte, Hotel Port Royal, Hotel Claude Bernard, Hotel Palais Bourbon, Hotel GrandBalcons, or Hotel du Champ de Mars. Any thoughts on these or others in this price range and preferably with A/C? Thanks.

I would suggest Hotel Valadon http://www.hotelvaladon.com/ right down the street form CHMPS dE Mars. Stayed there twice over the past year and you cannot go wrong with the area. Great places to eat and 10 min. walk to the TOWER. hAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY.

Hi - I've stayed twice at the Grand Hotel de Balcons. While I have liked the hotel, the location and the breakfast and would stay there again but not in the summer - there is no air conditioning.

My wife and I have stayed at Hotel Pas des Calais (right off blvd St Germain in 6e) and Le Sainte Beauve in 6e. Both are in your price range and we were very happy with each- have returned to both.

check out the hotel muget - it is a 2* with 3* amenities, like ac.

If I remember correctly, Valadon has a very strict cancellation policy so be sure to read everything thoroughly.

Last I knew, the Port Royal was only a 1* hotel (although well reviewed in that category, and I like its location) and def. did not have AC. Has it changed? I didn't think the Grands Balcons or Champ de Mars had AC, either. Most won't in that price range in the central area, but you have a few that do.

YOu might throw Hotel Clement into that batch. It's not far from the Bonaparte and has AC, although budget.

Bkfst is served in your room, unless you insist on going down fr it.

We like it because it is quiet, clean, rooms are a reasonable size (not common in Paris) at a reasonable price, around 65 euros and run by an extremely nice couple. The only difficulty is that it is not terribly central. There is a metro stop not far away, and you’re only a few stops from anything you want to see, but if you want to stroll along the Seine or by the Eiffel tower in the evening, it’s not the place for that. HOwever, one of our favourite restaurants, La Regolade is just outside the front door!

Mugeut is nice or try the Hotel Andrea on Rue Bon just off Rue Rivoli on the edge of the Maurais about 4 blocks from Notre DaME.

Sully Saint Germaine and Moderne Saint Germaine on the Left Bank are both excellent hotels. Moderne has breakfast included Sully does not. PERFECT location in Paris. Both have websites you can check out.

We stayed at the Hotel de Suez on Boulevard Saint Michel. The location was great. The room were smallish, but comfortable. Our only problem was that we stayed there in July, 2003 (the year of the tragic heatwave which reputedly killed 10,000 people in France), and our room had no A/C. I'm not sure if other rooms have A/C or not. On our second stay there, the weather was more civil and we enjoyed the hotel and the area.
