Both times that I have been my husband and I have really enjoyed visiting the Irish National Stud (ie, race horse breeding farm) and Japanese Gardens in Kildare. I would imagine that the kids would really enjoy the horses!

I think Ryan's been back from her trip for 2 years now. But for others, our 11-year old sone loved:
Pubs! Drinking Club Orange in the smokefree pubs at 11 was exciting.
Visiting all the bookstores so he could stock up on his favorite Cirque Du Freak books.
Tea shops and the chocolate cakes.
Visiting the Bloody Sunday Memorial & museum in Derry.
Bunratty and the folk park.
Knappague Castle.
Skellig Michael.
Finding abandoned and crumbling stone cottages near Skibbereen.
Touring ruined abbeys and seeing all the graves.
Walking on the rocks at the ocean, catching small fish to feed the sea urchins in the tide pools.
It's a great place to take kids!
