10 minutes to connect in Ventimiglia train station?

I am looking to buy a train ticket that looks like this:

Manarola 07:24 Genova Piazza Principe 09:23
Genova Piazza Principe 10:55 Ventimiglia 13:07
Ventimiglia 13:17 Nice Ville 14:06

Question: Is 10 minutes to connect enough time to make the next train in Ventimiglia?

Thank you,
Christal

Ventimiglia is a tiny station. If you arrival is on time you have no problem.

The trains from Ventimiglia to Nice are local stopping trips with no seat reservations. If you miss the one at 1317, you can catch the next one, at 1347. If you have to wait at Ventimiglia, you can get a drink or a snack in the station.

I too am buying tickets for a very similar journey. So may I ask a question?
If I pre purchase the Ventimiglia leg am I right in understanding that it doesn't matter what train you catch as the ticket will still be valid.

Yes, it will be valid for a set num er of days after you validate it...STOP worrying about the small stuff, OK?

Aussie_10,

As per the Trenitalia site:
**Regional train tickets are valid for up to two months from the date of purchase - AFTER VALIDATION, the time validity starts depending on the journey length**

For your runs it appears the length may fall into the 90 minutes to 2 hour category, after validation. So it's best to validate as you're waiting for your train to arrive, as it pulls in the station, or as you're getting on! Validated tickets for shorter runs are good for a number of minutes/hours - not a number of days.

There are different rules for ticket validity in Italy and France, and another set of rules for international tickets.

Some of the trains between Genova and Ventimiglia are Intercity trains with compulsory seat reservations. Others are regional trains and tickets are valid for 6, 12 or 24 hours from validation.

If you have French ticket for a local train, it can be used at any time on the date it is validated.

International tickets are generally valid two months and do not need to be validated.

rineurope - excellent information and links. It really helps understand the Italian train info. We have many train trips to take and the information is invaluable. Thank you

GeoffHamer - thanks for your info. If you purchase the Regional train separately then would the validation time would start from the that trip (being the last one to the final destination).

p.s. Christals sorry for piggy backing on your post.
