Thanks for sharing your experiences - good, bad and otherwise! I was in Madrid and Segovia two years ago and it brought back many memories.
We had a similar washout vacation to Paris in March 2007 and I tried to not like it color my view of the city, but it's hard. Sounds like you both perservered on!
