10 Days In Switzerland this Summer
We are two couples in our 60's and 70's planning a trip to Switzerland this summer. We will fly in to Geneva and fly out of Zurich.
We have 10 full days not counting the days we arrive and the day we leave. We are thinking of starting in Lausanne and the Montreux area followed by the train from Montreux to Zermatt. From Zermatt we would like to go to the Berner Oberland area for a few days. From there we will head to Lucerne. We are not necessarily planning to spend any time in Zurich. We are thinking of 3-4 nights total in Lausanne and/or Montreux followed by a night or two in Zermatt. Lausanne and/or Montreux seem to have a fair amount to do that we could spend a good amount of time there. Is Zermatt worth it in view of our limited time. After Zermatt we would take the train to Interlaken and spend 3-4 nights in one of the towns and the last night in Lucerne. We are not hikers but are interested in the scenery. We don't feel tied to this itinerary but are open to suggestions. Thank you for your thoughts as always |
My proposal:
2-3 nights at Monreux 2-3 nigfhts at Zermatt 2-3 nights at Wengen 1 night at Lucerne (but at least as full day) Don't underestmate Zermatt |
