10 days in Switzerland & 3-4 days in Paris

Hello

we (self ,wife & a 7 yr old kid) plan to land in Zurich on 21st june; since it's our first time in Switzerland - need some guidance/help if the following looks ok -main tourist attractions ;

also need some recommendations on hotels & also would like to do the panoramic rail tour-Glacier express ?
is it advisable to buy the Swisspass (train) before arrival ?

21st in Zurich
22-24 Lucerne
25-27 Interlaken (or should we be staying in Geindenwald/Murren?)
28-29 Zermatt
30-1st Montreux/Genva

2nd July morning -train to Paris

thanks much
Kumar

Your trip is feasible, but it has absolutely nothing to do with Glacier Express.
Check whether Swiss Pass, Swiss Flexi Pass or Half Fare Card will be the best solution.
All depends on the excursions you plan to do from Lucerne, Interlaken and Zermatt.

With that wide-ranging train travels a Swiss Pass IMO would be your best ticket to ride - an 8-consecutive-day pass - Saver Pass would be the best perhaps - not using it the day you land or the day you leave from Geneva - your kid gets a free pass under the Family Pass deal and the kid never pays a dime for any transportation - even things the Swiss Pass only gives a discount on - the Family Pass comes free with your Swiss Passes.

Swiss Passes are valid not only on trains but lake boats, postal buses, city trams and buses but also yield free entry to 400+ Swiss museums. For lots of great info on Swiss trains and passes I always spotlight these fine sources IMO - http://www.budgeteuropetravel.com/id3.html; www.ricksteves.com; www.seat61.com and www.swisstravelsystem.com.

only if the price is cheaper here than there as it has been most of the time for several years I have been comparing prices - but if there is little or no difference or at times cheaper in Switzerland then just wait and buy it at any airport train station or any train station - be sure to factor foreign currency purchase fees your credit card may tack on.

Be sure to book the Geneva to Paris train as early as possible to nab deep discounted tickets - www.voyages-sncf.com - the French Railways site for booking.
