We were at Giverny in early October last year, and there were plenty of late blooming flowers in the garden. The ponds, water lilies, willows, and bridges were lovely.

also, his later works are much brighter and "splodgier", reflecting apparently his failing eyesight which meant that he found it more difficult to distinguish the separate flowers and colours - or so we learnt from the exhibition of his works at the Marmottan museum in the 16th - out by the bois de boulogne. http://www.marmottan.fr/ |
