10 days in Dubrovnik - advice please!
Hi
A friend and I are spending 10 days in Dubrovnik in late August/early September. We would like to have a few days lying by the beach, swimming etc and a few days sightseeing.
Could anyone advise on somewhere to stay for the relaxing part of the trip - would like somewhere nice but not too expensive! Also, any advice on day trips and where to stay...we would like to spend a night or two on the islands, Montenegro etc. but don't really know where would be nice to spend a couple of nights or where to stay.
Would really appreciate any pointers!
Thanks a million.

It sounds like you might want to spend 4 or 5 days in Dubrovnik for sightseeing and exploring the area and then move on to somewhere a bit quieter for relaxing. That place could be the island of Korcula or the Elafiti islands. Korcula is a beautiful island with good beaches and still has some sight seeing in case the weather turns bad. The elafiti islands are great for relaxing, but there is really nothing to do there at all if the weather is bad.

I agree with Ray, 4 days in DBV, 2 or 3 in Korcula. Since you are so close, I would also spend a few days in Montenegro. Since you enjoy the beach you could stay 3 nights in Budva, with a day trip to Perest/Kotor and spend a few hours in Sveti Stefan.
