What sort of input do you want? Have you read the (many) trip reports for these place?s What are your interests (if you want sightseeing advice) and budget (if you want hotel and restaurant advice)?

looking for feedback on timing mostly. I've seen so many helpful posts about not trying to do too much or go too many places within your timeframe. I've tried to take that advice to heart, but not really knowing anything first-hand about any of our destinations, I'm very insecure.
We have seen great reviews of the bus trip from Munich up the Romantic Road and think we'll do that to get to Rothenberg.
Just looking for a bit of reassurance maybe?

I would advise getting a travel book, like Fodor's and looking at their suggestions and descriptions of places within a city. You can then decided if you really want to go to the site. I just returned from Budapest. I looked at the suggested walking tours in Fodor's, and what to see, the Fodor's choices (recommended spots), and I just decided what would interest me.
If you are looking for reassurance, I think this might help, and this way you won't miss something you really wanted to see, and you won't have too much on your list.

I'm heading to the bookstore today to buy several guide books (as recommended here!) for the cities we'll visit.
Since you didn't balk at the length of time we've alloted for each city, may I take that to mean it looks reasonable?
thanks!

Well, it looks a little rushed, but not unreasonable. I just spent five days on a second trip to Budapest, so I think you'll want to go back, but you have three full days, plus whatever you can stay awake for on the 12th. I think Rothenberg sounds hopelessly touristy, but that's your choice - I might cut it to one night and spend an extra day in Munich, maybe doing a day trip. I seem to remember reading that some things have changed with the Romantic Road trip recently - you might want to go over to ricksteves.com and do a search there.

Fsufan1, I have learned that I would rather spend an extra day at one place than to rush to see another place. So, I would focus on two cities and maybe make some daytrips. But this is entirely up to you. Enjoy!
