10-11 days in Spain with young children
We're planning a 10-11 day (depends on flight schedules) trip to Spain in late April/early May with our two daughters who will be just turning 5 and 3 at the time of the trip.
I'm torn between Madrid - Toledo (day trip) - Valencia (highly recommended by ex-pat friends who lived there) - Barcelona (I've been there before, my husband hasn't).
OR
Madrid - Granada - Tangier (am obsessed and really want to go) - Seville. With time to return to Madrid since we would have to return there for a flight back to States
With the kids being so young, we'd probably just hit 1 (2 max) sites a day in each location (e.g. just the Alhambra in Granada) and then spend the rest of the day strolling, eating, at a park, etc. The girls travel really well and are great with being on the go, but at the same time, I want to stay long enough in one place that we're not always on the move.
I feel like the first itinerary is probably the most logical and I just need to let go of my Tangier dream for this trip. But wanted to see what your thoughts were - any and all advice appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

With only 10 to 11 days in late April/early May, and traveling with young children, I would concentrate my time on Madrid (at least 5 nights with day trips) and Valencia (either a day-trip or a couple of nights). You can also add in a couple of nights in Granada (by train or plane).
I'm sorry, but Tangier isn't worth the time, especially with young children. There are several destinations in Morocco that are worth your time, but Tangier isn't one of them.

Thank you, that makes me feel better about not going to Tangier.
I've heard Barcelona is a lot better for children than Madrid....I'm really on the fence about where to start for our "home base" for those 5 days or so.

I agree with Robert - a lot of fabulous places in Morocco but a daytrip or overnight to Tangiers is not a dream trip. Stick to Spain. We spent five nights in Barcelona with our kids a few years ago(though they were older than yours) but we loved it. I think even your girls would enjoy the Gaudi architecture, particularly what looks like Queen Frostine's castle from Candy Land at Parc Guell!
We also, spent a week in Andalucia this past March (Granada, Cordoba, Seville)which I must say was fabulous.
