We are a couple that will be in Paris for a week this winter. Is it a goo idea to take our 1 year old daughter to diseny land paris? Should we spend the night there?

You are going to get a ton of flak on this one.<BR><BR>In the first place, why are you taking a one year old to Paris? Then, why Disneyland, any Disneyland????<BR><BR>The one year old will have no clue. Seems like a complete waste of everyone's time and effort and money.<BR><BR>Surely

Well the 1 year old wil lnot remember this trip but am sure at that time he or she will be delighted.

The one-year old will be delighted to be with her parents, wherever it is! <BR><BR>As a mother of two and grandmother of three, I agree with the person who says not to waste your money taking a baby to Disneyland. Much too young. Wait until she is 8years old. Studies show tha that is the IDEAL age for Disneyland -- old enough to go on all the rides, but still young enough to believe in magic!

The point is......are the parents going to Euro Disney because they want to see it and not specifically for the child. If they're in Paris and want to go to Disney for themselves then I say go and bring the baby. It isn't ideal dragging a baby to Disney, but if it's the only chance they may have to go then they should go.....for themselves.

Go anywhere you want with the one year old as long as you're forewarned: s/he won't rember it, but you sure will! and you must have money to burn...

Hi,<BR>Dont worry about any negative responses on this forum. Some people think that if you have a child that means you are not allowed to travel any further than to the supermarket on the corner.<BR><BR>I have not been to Paris or Disneyland, but I am sure you will find things to do to amuse your infant in Paris. <BR><BR>I guess general travel advice would be to take it slow, keep it simple, take frequent breaks and try and stick to a basic feed/sleep routine if possible. <BR><BR>Your one year old would probably not remember anything about the trip, but you will, and you will remember the smile on her face- if she is not too exhauseted. Maybe check how many rides would be suitable for her age group before you go to see if it is worth the $ to take her. If you and dh want to go for yourselves and take her with you, then just go and have a ball regardless.<BR>Karen<BR><BR>

I took my 3 yr old this summer and she was just about old enough for it. 1 is really too young. Plus it is rather expensive and a schlep to get to from central Paris. If you want a nice amusement park in Paris, and therefore much more a French experience, try the Jardin d'Acclimatation in the Bois de Boulogne. Your child will probably be too young for that, too, but at least it's close, reasonably priced and a truly Parisian experience.

Heres my take. The child will have no memory of the trip. The parents will remember how hard it was with naps and tantrums etc. But if your there ANYWAY, give it a shot, what the hell.

Go for it - you can always laugh years later about the &quot;Trip from Hell.&quot; Seriously, why would you want to put yourself and the child through such torture? Traveling is often stressful enough without compounding it by 400%!<BR>

If you want an honest opinion, I feel that your 1 yr. old child is too young to appreciate a Disneyland Paris visit.<BR><BR>I say that because in my own experience, our 3 year old son was just at the age to begin to appreciate Disney World when we took him. Even at that age we felt, in hindsight, that he would have enjoyed it better if we had postponed the trip until he was 8 years old even. <BR><BR>I think you all should stay in Paris and just enjoy the city instead of wasting your money to stay at Disney Paris. Wait until your daughter is much older.

I agree with Ann. If you want to go, just go! As a frequent Disneyland Paris visitor I can tell you that you don't have to miss anything with a 1 year old child. You can use the &quot;baby swich&quot; so you can both wait in line and switch to sit in a attraction while the baby stays with one of you.<BR><BR>There is also enough accomodation in the park for babies. Enjoy your trip to Disneyland. Even when your baby is too young to do all the rides, he still can do some and he will amuse himself, just like you will... and you can always come back a few years later.<BR><BR>These are some attractions you can certainly do with a baby: Pirates of the Carribean, the Railroad, the playground, Fort Comstock, Pinokkio and Snowwhite (a little bit scarry), the Visionarium, the Robinson tree, Le passage d'Alladin, le Nautilus...

I agree with Surely. Are you going to Disneyland and are dragging the 1-year old along? <BR><BR>Get a babysitter and leave the 1-year old at home, and you and your wife have a wonderful time in Paris.

Or take your 1 year old to le Jardins du Luxembourg, or to Jardin d'Acclimatation in Paris itself. No need to go to the Disneyland, not worth of the hassle, IMHO, as a grand mother who has extensively traveled with grand kids. Both gardens ( or parks)have many attractions to the little ones, maybe more enjoyable and less stressing then Disneyland, and undoubtedly easier.<BR><BR>

Dear Joe, Katie and other parents, <BR><BR>It's not about whether your kid remembers that you bring him somewhere. Kids learn thru different experiences and studies have shown that learning is fastest before age 3.The young child's brain has double the synapses of an adult and slowly gets rid of those which are not in use.This is the input stage so pls expose your young child to as many different experiences as early as possible. By the time he reaches 8, the max improvement his synapses can increase is +20%. Joeandkatie,<BR><BR>Just so you know, depending on what part of Paris you are in, the train out to Disneyland could be at least a two-hour ride with a switch inbetween. My teenage kids were exhausted by the time they got back from their day there last March. Good luck whatever you decide!

At 1-year old, the kid probably can't walk well. You will be lugging and dragging the stroller all over the cobblestone sidewalks. Changing diapers everywhere you go -- I'm sure you'll just love Paris. Have a great vacation.
