I live in Singapore, lived in Hong Kong for 11 years and am originally from India. Will give a bit from all three -

1. Hong Kong - Best Dim Sum - at the Maxims restaurant in City Hall where it is served the traditional way in hand drawn carts

Best Indian food in HK - at Babek (Kebab spelt backwards)

2. New Delhi - best Indian food at Bukharas at the Maurya Sheraton Hotel

3.Singapore - Our favorite place serves both Thai and French Cuisine - very quaint place, great wines too - called Vis-a-Vis

Best Indian food at Singapore - sigh - at my place of course!

Hi

I'm from the Tablelands in northern Queensland, Australia. We have a fish called barramundi which is so delicious when freshly caught and cooked. For dessert, mango ice cream, made from mangoes picked off our own trees.

You could eat this at my home!

Another Philadelphian heard from: you might notice, we take food seriously.

Among my favorites:

Turkey with sharp provolone, spinach, and red onion on a Sarcone's-like roll at Timmy D's on Cottman Ave.

TastyKake's chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting

Capogiro gelato, especially the herbal flavors

Just about anything from the Naked Chocolate cafe

Mozzarella fries from my neighborhood pizza joint

Soft pretzels from the stand in the Reading Terminal Market...and a lot of other stuff there!

Lee's or Primo's hoagies

And, downnashore, Mack and Manco's pizza, but you gotta eat it on the boardwalk

1. Texas

2. In San Antonio our favorites include:

Indian: India Oven

French: L'Etoile

Fish & seafood: Wildfish

Italian: Paesano's (especially Shrimp Paesano & any of the veal dishes there)

Best cinnamon rolls ever: Elm's Bake Shoppe on Wurzbach

In Port Aransas:

Venetian Hot Plate - everything here is wonderful, including the best Caesar salad (lots of garlic)

Marcel's - also wonderful & Marcel makes the best chocolate mousse we've had outside France

I live close to Stroud in the Cotswolds, England, and rather than list all the wonderful local foods I am lucky enough to be able to choose from, here is the website for our local award-winning Farmers Market where I shop every Saturday and buy much of our food for the week...

http://www.fresh-n-local.co.uk/markets/stroud.php

If you ever find yourselves in this part of the Cotswolds, which is rarely discovered by visitors to this part of England, then please try to come to the market - it is truly wonderful. Today there were people dancing to jazz music played by some local lads on the corner by the tomato stall and Niang's Thai Snack stall, they had just left their shopping bags on the side when they couldn't resist the foot-tapping music! It was great!!!

I second the recommendation for dim sum in City Hall in Hong Kong. And, thank you Pennsylvanians for the Tastykake web site. I grew up on Tastykakes... and thought they were gone with the wind!

I live in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee and we have a place called Bobby Q's that features:

* Banana pudding (they make a unique brown sugar/caramel pudding and use real heavy whipped cream)

* Pulled pork barbeque

* Fried catfish sandwich w/huge hushpuppies that have big chunks of onion and are slightly sweet

* Fudge pie with ice cream

* And, if you are into spicy stuff they have a "pool room" slaw that is good.

Victoria , on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Salmon- Salmon capital of the world is Campbell river, which is about 3 hours north of here. BBQed, baked, steamed, smoked( my favorite) .

Dungeness crabs( hubbys going out tomorrow to get some for Sunday suppper, yeah!

Victoria has a lot of ethnic eateries, mostly Asian,, we love Thai and Japanese food here. Sushi is very popular and many grocers sell and make it daily.

Tourists come for afternoon tea. Victorians don't do afternoon tea, but like tourists doing it,($$),LOL
Since we are close to Seattle, which most of us know is coffee capital of the world, LOL, coffee is king here too!

Famous desert bar, named after mid island city.
Nanaimo Bars- chocolate and sweetened condensed milk, with more sugar, and on a sweet chocolate and coconut cookie soft crust. One inch square guaranteed to kill a diabetic. LOL

Tucson, AZ - It definitely has it's favorites. If you're not from here or new to the Southwest. You must try a Sonoran Hot Dog. It's a grilled hot dog with a mix of ingredients and comes with hot pepper. They're pretty cheap for the quality.

I also say you should try Lucky Wishbone for their steak fingers. They are battered steak strips that are fried and I haven't found them anywhere else.
