1-week in Italy (been to Rome,Flor,Sien,Milan,Pisa,Padova)
Hi,
Need recommendations on where to go in Italy! I'm flying into Milan and leaving from Turin airport.
I only have ONE WEEK and been to the major tourist cities.(Rome,Florence,Sienna,Pisa,Milan,Padova)
Any recommendations???
I would LOVE to go to the Southern Italy but not sure if I have time or if December is a good time to go. We don't want to drive and I believe a Train ride takes 6-8 hours to Pompei and we would lose 2 days of .
Any suggestions?
I'll be there around Christmas till New Years. How is the weather?
THanks!!

How about Venice for a week.
Or, if you've already been to Venice and just forgot to mention it, if you liked Tuscany, you might consider the Umbria region, which is wonderful.
Sicily is probably one of the most interesting regions you could ever possibly visit. You can't do justice to all of it in a week, and a trip there would require more planning than either Venice or Umbria. But the weather probably wouldn't be too bad.

Plan a trip to Sicily! It was in the 70's a couple of weeks ago. I was totally entranced with the whole experience. Carol is right that one can't do justice to the whole island, but, I did enjoy myself thoroughly covering about 1/4. You won't believe your eyes as you round the bend and houses literally hanging from the mountain side.
The food, the people, the scenery was magical. I can't wait to return next year!
Another area that I loved and spent a week in lat year was the Amalfi Coast. It's truly lovely and charming. There is a fabulous little B and B in Minori that's new and very nice. I'd suggest a car, just as I would for Sicily.
I drove from the southern part of Sicily to Rome in a day. I would have loved to linger but it was freezing. I'd have to say it would be Amalfi or Sicily if you are seeking warmer temperatures.
