1 month in Tuscany
A little help please….my wife and I are thinking about a month in Tuscany summer 2026. We enjoy the out door cafes and visiting the hilltop villages and just relaxing. I would appreciate any suggestions. We have spent time in Florence so would appreciate other recommendations. Thank you

With a month, after a few days in Florence I would rent a car and split bases (and time) between someplace north (my personal favourite Siena or any of the Chianti villages) and another south (Montalcino or Pienza or anywhere in the glorious Val D'Orcia, maybe in a wonderful agriturismo or villa) to explore the countryside and avoid backtracking.
Please refer to the very helpful Italy itinerary of Stu Dudley (a former long time contributor on Fodors and Tuscany expert) - all his docs are archived here https://www.fodors.com/community/eur...place-1728594/. I'm sure you have a high level itinerary in mind if you picked a month here but I would highly recommend buying a guidebook or two to extensively research and plan your trip in granular detail. There's so much to see and do in and around Tuscany, with a month you could cover a lot of ground. Enjoy your trip - I'd love to return to Tuscany for a month in the future. |
Like ANUJ says
I'd hire a bicycle rather than a car. |
