1 freedafter noon to "play" in Paris

Hello all!

I have a week-long trip to Paris for work coming up this month and would love your ideas on my one free (half) day...not enough! But I'll take it.

I arrive Monday morning, 10am ish, so expect to arrive at the hotel in the 7th by noon -worst case.

What would you do from there? I've been to Paris before so no need to hit the big sights. I love strolling around, weather permitting, and am tempted to catch a concert at St Chapelle that evening. I love people watching, sitting at a cafe, finding tiny shops and bookstores, etc.

Any areas of town you'd explore for a few hours? Dinner recommendations for a solo traveler?

Thx!

Yikes! Terrible subject line typo, sorry! That should say "afternoon". :)

Depending on where you will be staying, I'd recommend Pakito, 11, rue Rougemont in the 7th, for something truly Basque. Or l'Ami Jean, 27 rue Malar, for good southwest Basque cuisine.

And there is always one of our traditional favorites, La Fountain de Mars (www.fontainedemars.com). Tell them you want a table upstairs.

For something interesting, and good, you can have lunch at the care/restaurante Petit Palais (www.petitpalais.paris.fr/fr/votre-visite).

Our other favorite place for lunch is Fish La Boissonnerie Bistro, 69, rue du Seine, highly recommended by our friend Patrica Wells.

Find a list of the best _____'s in Paris (choclates, pastries, bread, boutiques, crepes, or what interests you) and visit as many as you can find for your own opinion.

I love that! I'm crepe obsessed and should make a game of it. :)

Go out to the Parc St-Cloud (if the weather's good). If it's not, take a tour of the passages.
