1 day to trout fish in midlands?
 

Can anyone help me find a place to fish for 1 day? I'll be in the Longford, Athlone, Castlepollard area from June 1 til June 5 & would love to take a day & fish for trout, but have no idea where to go, or how to rent equipment. We're 2 adventurous young,senior citizens. Any suggestions? Thanks

You'll almost certainly need a permit.

Permits are required, but are usually cheap and easy to get. It's covered in the url I gave.

Salmon fishing will be very expensive. There are some great Trout streams in County Mayo; I didn't reply to your 'post' about Trout fishing in 'the midlands' because I didn't know what that included. Google on Foxford fishing for Salmon fishing guides (guilleys).
