1 day in Bled vs 1 day in Bratislava

I'm going on a trip around Europe this September and I got 1 day to plan. I've narrowed it down to two options: 1 day in Bled (departing and returning to Ljubljana the same day) or 1 day in Bratislava (on my way from Budapest to Wien). I'm really into cities but we're already visiting a few, and we cover large impressive cities like Budapest or Prague as well as small ones like Ljubljana and Zagreb, so maybe another one is too much, and I also wanted to visit something in the countryside, but I'm afraid it could be full of kids and stuff. What do you think?

If you're spending most of your time in cities, then Bled is the better choice, a contrast to everything else you'll be seeing and it's perfect as a day trip from Ljubljana. I wouldn't worry about too many children, there aren't droves of them or anything like that. I've been to Bled many times and it's never struck me as a problem, particularly in September, when school has already started.

Make sure to include a visit to the Vintgar Gorge or, alternatively, make your way further into the national park to Lake Bohinj, as well. Watch out, though, all those natural sights will make you wish you had more than a day to explore.
