1 bdrm apt in Paris
Hi everyone,
Hubby and I are taking my parents to Paris next May. I've looked at a lot of the apartment websites, and found that two bedroom apartments are too expensive for our budget. We would like to find a one bedroom apartment with the bathroom attached to the living room instead of to the bedroom, so that people sleeping in the living room can have easy access to the bathroom. Most, if not all, websites do not have floor plans. I want to see if anyone has stayed in one of those one-bedroom apartments with the bathroom attached to the living room. Our budget is anything below 1000euros a week for all 4 of us, and we would like to stay in destricts 1-8. Thanks. Ellen |
I've seen a lot of apts like that, and did stay in one myself (which is now only rented for a month or more), you just need to look at some websites. I think that is actually the normal way an apt. is, with the bathroom accessible through the hallway, not just the bedroom. YOur budget is a little tight, though, for a 1 BR that easily sleeps four people.
Here is one website which I've viewed periodically although I haven't rented from them (but I rent a couple good reviews about them): www.drawbridgetoeurope.com Their 1 BR apt no. 77 in the 15th and no. 904 near rue Daguerre seem to fit your bill. No. 77 clearly does, and has a layout -- no. 904 which I tried to rent once but it was taken (great area) says all rooms are off the hallway, so you'd have to get them to clarify if that included the bathroom. No. 1591 in the 3rd arr. (rue du Temple) also has a layout and fits your requirements, but is somewhat more expensive than that budget (US$1860 per week). I think all those apts are around 50 m2. |
Depending on your parents ages and condition check that an apartment is on the ground or first floor or has an elevator. We stayed in a great apartment on Ile St Louis this summer but the stairs to the top floor were killers for the first couple of days! Rob |
Thanks, Rob. I will definitely watch out for that.
Thanks, Christina. I have looked at many websites. The pictures and descriptions really don't tell me much about the location of the bathroom. I've sent some emails to the owners, and all of them had the bathroom in the bedroom. I'll keep looking. If anyone else has some input, please do let me know. Thanks a lot. Ellen |

All of the apartments at rentparis.com have floorplans, along with several photos.

Thanks everyone.
rentparis.com is a great site. Hopefully I will be able to reserve an apartment from them. Ellen |
hey Ellen...
we rented in Paris this Summer... and the flat was managed "locally" by AhParis!... but we actually booked it through "Paris Hideaways"... a UK based company... and it was substantially cheaper for the same unit... than AhParis! http://studio.provaction.com/index.html (Paris Hideaways) http://www.ahparis.com/ (ahParis!) |
This would be perfect for you, it is exactly what you are requesting and as a bonus it is an very non-touristic neighbourhood.

Thanks, Lucky. The apt looked perfect. Unfortunately, it is booked for the whole month of May 2008.
Bual, thanks for recommending Paris Hideaway to me. It is a great website. I have found several potential rentals. What was your experience dealing with them? Was it pleasant? Were there any hidden fees besides the rent and cleaning fee? Ellen |
