wrapped presents through security?

Hi there, when checking in for your cruise can you take a bag of wrapped presents as carry on or will they make you unwrap them?

Assuming you are flying in to the port, you SHOULD NOT wrap gifts. The FAA is VERY CLEAR that now packages should NOT be wrapped.

Put them in your checked luggage.
I assume the problem comes with your carry on ones.

Had two simply wrapped presents in my carry on and thought they might have to be unwrapped. but they took them out and put them through x-ray separately. An alternative that I thought about was taking gift bag and tissue separately then putting the gifts in when I reached destination..

Even checked baggage can now be searched and wrapped packages are considered a MUST check. Most will tear them open, and any electronic items are subject to search, even in checked luggage, meaning they will open the box, pull it out, etc.
Best solution is to leave it all unwrapped and take some wrapping paper with. Send your roommates out for a half hour and do your wrapping in your cabin, or as mentioned earlier, put the gifts in the handy gift bags, etc.
Hope this helps.
