World Explorer to Alaska
We just returned from Alaska with World Explorer Cruises. It was great. No dressing up for dinner, no casino, educational evening programs, excellent food and very good staff. Educational lectures at sea, 14 days cruising, 9 different ports plus Glacier Bay and Hubbard Glacier and all the way out to Kodiak, extensive and varied shore excursions. This is the ship that is used most of the year for Semester at Sea so has a wonderful college type library. Between semesters in the winter they are doing Carribbean/Panama Canal cruises.

Hi Dorothy, glad to read that you enjoyed the Explorer and Alaska. We to sailed the Explorer on its first cruise of the season in May and enjoyed it enough that we will sail again next May.

We're first-time cruisers, considering whether to take the World Explorer 14-day cruise or instead the 9-day cruise plus a Canadian Rockies rail tour. I'm worried we might get bored on the ship for 14 days. Did you ever get tired of the 14 days?
Hi Kathy,

You will definitely not get bored on the ship but you more than likey would on the train unless you are a real train buff.

Paul
My husband and I are not into dress up dinners, casinos, discos, pools, etc. We want to see the scenery and wildlife. This sounds more like our style. Thanks for the info.
