Will Carnival send me back if I'm not happy on board?

I am signing up for my first cruise on Carnival. I heard that is you are not happy on board, they will fly you home from the next port. Is this true? Also, if you are not happy in your cabin,i.e, neighbors are noisy, will they move you to a new cabin? Any response will be helpful.

As I understand it, if you are dissatisfied with your cruise anytime before the first port and things cannot be fixed to your satisfaction, they will refund the balance of your ticket price (prorated for the balance of the cruise) and fly you home from the first port. This does not apply after the first port.

sam

If you have noisy neighbors you should call the purser's desk and report them. It is their job to insure that you have a reasonable environment around you.

We had the old woman from hell on a Princess cruise and we and several other people on our hallway called and reported her. They kicked her off the ship. She was an old alcoholic who drank a lot at night and the more she drank the louder she would yell at her husband. She knew every cuss word in the book and used them all repeatedly.

Yes Carnival will pay to get you back to your originating port but then you are on your own. They are not going to pay you to get back home since you are still holding valuable airline tickets. You can either change your tickets to the new date with a cost of upward to $100 or you can grab a hotel on the beach and stay there for the remainder of your vacation time. The cruise line will be giving you back the money for the cruise portion you missed. This should pay for your hotel and meals and if you eat at Denny's you will come out ahead.

Paul

The only problem with this plan is sometimes the first port of call is the next day and you have only been on the ship for a number of hours before a problem really surfaces.

Call your travel agent- he or she will tell you all the info. If not, check the back of the brochure for the rules/restrictions. If not, check the Internet. If not, call Carnival directly.

Yes, they will fly you from the next port back to orginating port. Yes, they will refund remaining of cruise. Yes, Paul is correct that they won't do anything with airline tickets, but if you make changes to tickets, the changes start at $100 per person and go up from there.

The best thing to do is go with it. If you were qualified for your cruise (i.e. a travel agent placed you on that cruise based on your likes/dislikes), you will be fine. Just expect to have a great time and it should be fun.... As long as you don't mind the Walmart crowd!!!
Ginger - What is the Walmart crowd? Did a bunch of Walmart shoppers win a cruise and you had to put up with them? Are the Walmart crowd not allowed to be on the same cruise as you? You are a nincompoop

Since Walmart is the largest retailer in the country, I would think most of us are Walmart Shoppers at one time or other.
I am glad these snobs do not like Carnival.
Yes, Carnival will send you home at the 1st Port of Call and refund your money if you are unhappy with the cruise, you do of course have to tell them you are unhappy.

Statistically, the average Wal-Mart shopper goes to Wal-Mart twice a WEEK. I guess I am an under-average Wal-Mart shopper. Anyone who regularly visits ANY store twice a week is a little scarey.

Cruiser is wrong - they do not send you to Miami on a tender, they send you to WalMart.

As there is no WalMart in San Francisco, and now I'm dying to know what's the fuss here about, is the only way for me to get there is to take a Carnival cruise to be tendered to WalMart?
Jenny, please don't talk about my mother like that. Sure she is an alcholic and can be a demanding boor, and sure I take after her - but she is my mum. She can cruise just like you.

Oh man, she is calling me now to change her diaper - I hope its #2 and not #1 - more fun that way
